TMLP Commissioners

Peter Corr

Peter H. Corr is currently serving as a Taunton Municipal Lighting Plant commissioner.

Peter has served eight consecutive terms on the Taunton Municipal Lighting Plant Commission. In addition to his public service on the Taunton Municipal Lighting Plant Commission, Mr. Corr served on the Taunton School Committee for the City of Taunton for 20 years. Mr. Corr currently serves on the Bristol Plymouth Regional Technical School Committee and the City of Taunton’s Retirement Board.

Mr. Corr served as a member of the United States Marine Corp. earning an honorable discharge in 1959. Mr. Corr is a retired police officer of the City of Taunton, serving for 25 years.

He is a graduate of Coyle High School, Roger Williams College, and he has earned a Masters Degree from Anna Maria College. Mr. Corr is the father of three children and in his spare time he enjoys relaxing in his camper on the Cape.

Joseph Martin

Joseph Martin is currently serving as TMLP’s Chairman. He is also a member of the Taunton School Committee. He has held a seat on both boards for 10 years.

Mr. Martin is a former assistant superintendent, administrator, and teacher of the Taunton School Department. He retired as assistant superintendent after 36 years of service. He continues to be a visiting lecturer at Bridgewater State University where he has been a member of the math and computer science department for the past 38 years. He also sits on the board of directors for the Taunton Nursing Home.

In his spare time he enjoys golfing, traveling with his wife, Diane, and spending time with his five grandchildren.

Mark Blackwell Sr.

Mark Blackwell Sr. is a member of the Taunton Municipal Lighting Plant’s Commission. He is in his fifth term, having first been elected in 2013.

Prior to being elected to the TMLP Commission, Mr. Blackwell worked at the TMLP for 37 ½ years, holding positions of Electric Station Operator, Electric Maintenance Repairman, and Operations Coordinator.

Mr. Blackwell is also a member of the mentoring program for people with spinal cord injuries.

He has four children and nine grandchildren and in his spare time enjoys building furniture projects and woodworking.
